Walter Peele stumbles upon Naomi Dryer, the heiress of Dyer Corp, after she is drugged by one of her clients. When Walter steps in to save her, Naomi sleeps with him and takes half of his pendant. Six years later, Walter works as a laborer to pay for his adoptive mother's medical treatment, while his coworkers mock him for being single. Naomi arrives to inspect the site with Tanya Peele, who immediately notices Walter wearing the other half of her pendant and calls him "Dad."
